AmoLatina - Is This The Best Way To Meet Latina Women?
When was the last time you met someone who you didn’t first communicate with online? We apply for work online and even have our job interviews through Skype. Our friendships begin on social media accounts. When we go to parties we can pick out the faces in the room and match them to their online profiles.
Our whole world is digital now. And this means that making connections is easier, and more fun, than ever before. This is especially true for our romantic lives. Online dating is more popular than ever before. People can browse potential matches on their phones at the coffee shop, set up a date instantly, and be meeting up with someone for dinner an hour later.
This incredible technology means that we can meet and chat with people who live miles away, and we can find people who have our same quirks and characteristics without having to go on a million first dates. For people who are attracted to specific types or cultures, there are dating sites, like AmoLatina.com, that have been made just for them.
Amo Latina is sleek and stylish
I will say this for AmoLatina.com, its home page looks good. From the moment I navigated to their site, I was impressed. The sign-up page features a beautiful, cursive logo in red and a pretty, happy couple in the background. They have an optimistic tagline: “Take a Chance!” It all feels very warm and human.
Once I went through the simple sign-up process, I saw that their main page has a sort of social media layout. Large, round-cornered photographs take up most of the space. It definitely feels designed to appeal to Millennial tastes.
You can usually tell a lot about a site from its design. Those who invest in having good graphics and a user-friendly layout often take care in making other parts of their service accessible and good looking. However, that isn’t always the case, and as I started to browse through more of AmoLatina.com’s content, my enthusiasm dampened.
AFF is where you can actually find some quick fun
Amolatina.com isn't the worst site we have ever tried but it also isn't worth recommending. There are just too many other sites out there better than this you can be using.
If you are just looking for a hookup with a Latina you are going to be much better off with AFF. They have the largest number of women using their site (over 60 million active users) and we have found them to be the best for more regular guys (not super handsome).
The best news is that you can try them for free here and actually see what we are talking about. It is well worth spending 5 minutes to check out the women near you.
Who are these women?
I had to look past the pretty photos at the front of the site. Reading through a few profiles, I started noticing that the women were not, actually, from anywhere near me. They weren’t in my state, or even the next state over. They weren’t even in the country. Most of them listed their home as being in Colombia.
It turns out, when they said Latina women, they meant living in Latin America. That’s not quite what I had in mind. The women were certainly attractive, and I wouldn’t mind practicing my Spanish while eating great Colombian food. But, personally, I’m not trying to add a thousand dollar plane ticket to the price of the first date.
There are sites that are specifically catered to cross-country dating, but you have to be really careful here. All of the risks you normally take with online dating are tripled. Who are you actually talking to? What are their real motives? Everything gets trickier with a language barrier, and you have to know the laws governing financial transactions. It is, to say the least, complicated.
The women on Amo Latina had a lot to say
"Do you think that being a young woman is boring?"
That message popped up as I began browsing AmoLatina.com, just the first of many. How was I supposed to answer that question? It was a strange intro. And why was she messaging me, anyway? I didn’t have a profile picture or anything. It was suspicious.
In fact, getting too many messages too quickly is a clear red flag on a dating site. Legit sites are there to help you find love, but no matter how good the site is, it takes work and time. You usually don’t get talking with someone right away because you have to make a real, convincing profile and probably send a few messages out yourself.
If you’re getting messages before you even have a picture, there’s a good chance that person is just fishing for any responses, or, worse, a bot is sending automatic messages from people’s accounts. Neither is going to get you a real date.
Amo Latina is not free
Why would a site send out automatic messages to new accounts like mine? What’s in it for them? The answer was immediately clear when I tried to send a message back to that first young woman. As soon as I started typing, I was automatically redirected to an account upgrade page. Yes, with AmoLatina, you have to pay to play.
It’s risky to put money down when you don’t even know what you’re getting. The best sites out there can either guarantee you a good service before you pay because of their established reputation or they have free services. Most sites will let you send messages and look through member profiles without requiring a paid account. When you do have to pay, it’s for extra perks like showing up in searches more frequently.
Scammy sites, however, will often throw up a ton of paywalls. They don’t have much to show you anyway, so they try to lure you in with flirty messages. The idea is that you’ll sign up right away before you realize they don’t have much to offer.
Third parties are the worst kind of parties
By this point, I was officially suspicious of AmoLatina. What exactly were they offering to me? To talk with women who live on another continent? Or were they offering to make a connection and then help us meet up in person?
Their self description was incredibly vague: “AmoLatina is the leading international dating service that connects you with people from across the world. We are here to expand your dating opportunities. Our service helps you to discover new people whether you are interested in just a friendly conversation or a serious relationship.”
I decided to look more at their fine print. In their terms and conditions page, I found that they also work with numerous “suppliers” or third parties. These services could include international travel companies or video chat services. In any case, it was not a good sign.
The site even explicitly disclaims any responsibility they may have for linking you to scam services. “Amolatina.com is not in any way responsible for the quality of any additional services provided by the Suppliers,” they say. Well, that doesn’t sound reassuring.
What will Amo Latina do with my content?
Unfortunately, the clause about the third party services was not the only sketchy thing that I found in their terms and conditions. They also have this frightening text in there:
"By posting Content to any public area of the Website/Application You automatically grant, represent and warrant that You have the right to grant to Amolatina.com an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, and distribute such information and Content and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing."
That’s a bunch of text, so I’ll paraphrase it for you: If you put a picture up on AmoLatina, they can take it and use it for their own advertising. They can put it up on other sites, with any text they want, for any reason at all. And there’s nothing you can do about it. Now that is sketchy!
You're better off booking a trip to Colombia
I’ve reviewed a bunch of sites. AmoLatina is definitely not the ugliest or the sketchiest. In fact, it has a pretty beautiful layout and some of the profiles seem to be legit. But, honestly, it has a bunch of red flags, as well. Between the fake messages, the paywalls, and the warnings and rights they claim in the fine print, I wouldn’t advise using the site.
It can be great to date people from other cultures. You can learn a new language, come to understand a different religion, or simply enjoy new cuisine. There could be some other, steamier perks, too. But, you don’t need to rely on a sketchy dating service to get you there.
You would be better off booking a flight to Colombia yourself. And if traveling isn't an option, just use one of the many legit dating sites out there to meet a Latina woman who actually lives near you.
I hope that this AmoLatina review has been helpful. Happy dating, and best of luck.
