In our One Night Friend review, we went DEEP and learned exactly why this is a dating app you should avoid. We actually spent a lot of time actually using the app (both the free and paid versions). There are a lot of sites and apps out there that make crazy claims about connecting you with women but few that can actually deliver. You need to be sure that you’re using a legitimate option that can give you the best results.
Before we dive into the full review where we go into intricate detail about every part of our experience using One Night Friend, I want to set the tone with a quick overview and comparison:
As you’ll see below, we compared One Night Friend with AFF (that you can try free here), which in our experience, has been the best option for most regular guys when it comes to finding a casual hookup. If you’re super good-looking Tinder is up there as well but AFF tends to be what works best for normal dudes.

According to some of the latest research out there, the average Millennial user spends nearly 10 hours per week on dating apps. Men spend 85 minutes per day on dating sites, while women spend 79 minutes – is this time well spent on finding a romantic partner? Or, just another reminder of just how important it to choose an app that actually gets results?
We actually tried this site out for several weeks so we know what we’re talking about!
By current estimates, there are between 1,500 – 8,000+ dating apps and websites available online in 2023. In our search to put together the best list of hookup options to meet attractive women, we have tried and reviewed literally HUNDREDS of websites and apps.
A recent study from Southern Illinois University Carbondale found that 66% of respondents agreed with the statement “mobile dating apps allow me to control my romantic life”. According to researcher Valeria Beltran, “On a more individual level, using dating apps can be an empowering experience for many. Whether it be from the number of matches they receive or simply in the conversations and dates the user goes on, there is a sense of validation in knowing someone is interested in you.”
To help you decide which apps let you control your dating life (especially for those who don’t have time to hit the bars every night!), we dived headlong into the app.
Our review process for OneNightFriend.com involved the following criteria:
Without this level of effort, you just can’t tell what a site is capable of. You never know when you are going to find a lesser-known site that works well so we give everyone a fair shake.
Most of the “site review” you see online haven’t even tried out the site they are talking about. They simply log into a free profile and make a quick judgment.
Not all online ‘dating’ sites are actually out there to help you hook up or find a long-term partner. Some of them just want your money, and they use all kinds of intricate tricks and games to get it. Worse, these review sites give a glowing review while taking kickbacks to pass off a substandard app or dating site to their audience. Yuck!
Want to learn about the signs to look for when evaluating a potentially scammy site?
Daniel Holmes, a fraud prevention specialist for Feedzai, identified seven signs to look out for when it comes to identifying AI scammers on online dating platforms:
Sign | How to Evaluate |
Profile Existence on Other Platforms: | “Check if the profile exists on other social media platforms like Twitter or Instagram.” |
Profile Recency | “Look at when the profile was created. AI enables romance scams at scale, with fraudsters often taking down profiles quickly to move onto new ones.” |
Refusal to Send Selfies or Videos | “If they refuse to send selfies/videos or send generic looking selfies repeatedly, it’s a red flag.” |
Channeling Out of the Dating Site | “Fraudsters may quickly try to move the conversation to WhatsApp or SMS to build trust.” |
Early Requests for Funds | “An early approach or request for funds is a major red flag.” |
Dialogue Leading to Payment | “The dialogue from connection to payment plays on emotions or pushes for money.” |
Reluctance to Meet in Person | “If they keep putting off meeting in person, it’s a red flag as scammers will never meet in real life.” |

While creating this One Night Friend review, we learned that this site is a tricky one. By that, we mean that they spend a lot of effort trying to trick you into signing up.
In our Onenightfriend.com review, we found a site that is completely untrustworthy and filled with bots sending fake messages. We HIGHLY recommend that you avoid this site completely and go with a site that is actually proven to work (and has real women using it). AFF has been working best for us and you can try it for free using the buttons above.
There are three critical things you need to know about One Night Friend that led to our decision:
All of the above points toward a site that is very obviously trying to rip you off. We didn’t even fill out a profile or upload a photo and DOZENS of beautiful women were messaging us asking that we upload a photo. Does that sound even remotely real?
Do yourself a favor and run away from One Night Friend and any potential One Night Friend scams as fast as possible. This is one of the most obviously fake sites we have reviewed. Do yourself a favor and use a legit site like AFF if you actually want to get results.
Don’t worry, we’ve got your back. We’ve reviewed tons of dating sites, the bad and the good, and we know what to look for. Keep reading our OneNightFriend.com review to figure out the specifics of why we rated them sooooo low!
Big Hollywood movies often have millions of dollars behind them these days, but that doesn’t always mean they are enjoyable to watch. More often than not, I come out of the theater thinking there were some amazing special effects, but pretty much everything else was lacking. Almost immediately, I started feeling the same way about OneNightFriend.
They had a sleek logo with a great color scheme, yellow and black. It looked high end. They even offered a smartphone app and a pretty sophisticated menu bar. In other words, it had some good CGI. The addition of the hotel key in the logo was a nice touch. It wasn’t the most groundbreaking first impression, but it wasn’t bad, either. The question remained, though, would the acting and the script be any good.
We are going to ruin some of the suspense from the full One Night Friend review and tell you to just try AFF instead. When it comes down to it, there are two big things that One Night Friend doesn’t have that AFF does:
AFF has over 60,000,000 active users (Onenightfriend.com isn’t even close to 1 million). If you are looking to have a quick fling or even a friend with benefits you have 50 times as many options with AFF.

With apps like Tinder or One Night Friend it is really tough for regular looking guys to have much success. The top 10% of guys get 90% of the attention from women and most guys strikeout. With AFF they have a more expansive profile and a user base that takes more time when selecting. This mean guys without model looks can actually get the attention they want.
If you’ve been using other apps and still struggling to meet girls it’s probably because what you’re using is a waste of time. Here’s how it stacks up against the other top apps that regular guys have a lot of success with:
Site | Our Experience | Our Rating | Free Trial Link |
---|---|---|---|
Best Hookup Site Right Now | Experience Highlights
| 9.5 | Try AFF For Free |
Great If You're Handsome | Tinder Highlights
| 8 | Try Tinder |
2nd Best For Most Guys | Experience Highlights

Another thing about big Hollywood movies is they often have unbelievable, over-the-top dialogue. I was reminded of this when I read one of my messages from a woman. It said, “Howdy! I guess you didn’t expect to come across such a beautiful girl like me? Let’s chat! =)”
Okay, first of all, who says “howdy”? I don’t live in the south, no one says howdy where I live. Second of all, who is that excited and flirtatious with a completely random person? None of it seemed believable at all. So, I decided to look a bit deeper into the site’s terms and conditions to see if they use automated messages, which some of the sketchier sites do.
That’s where I found this clause:
“To boost interaction between our members and in order to notify them of newly registered matches and any activity of that new user . . . we may, from time to time, use an automatic pop up notification system and other communication channels.”
In other words, they will send fake messages on behalf of other users–this is essentially everything you need to know in this One Night Friend review. The message I received sounded fake because it was. This is typical for the scam dating sites out there. They try to lure new members into paying with seductive messages that aren’t even written by real women.
Industry experts have been sounding the alarm about this “uncanny valley” of interaction on online dating apps – and just how it’s becoming more and more common. According to Charly Lester, RealMe’s Industry Dating Expert. “We found that 63% of dating app insiders believe the risk of scams and fraud in online dating is increasing, and more than half admitted they could be doing more to protect their users from scammers and catfishing.” Lester admits that online security is a top concern for most dating apps, as “harm on dating apps is growing and both industry insiders and consumers are aware of the need for change,” says Lester.
There were a ton of profiles on OneNightFriend, but it was hard to see how real they were because I couldn’t chat and I couldn’t even see all of their information. So, for the sake of this OneNightFriend.com app review, I read through the rest of the boring fine print to see if I could find more information about their users. That’s when I found another shocking part of the user agreement. It said: “We may, from time to time, create profiles which are created, maintained and managed by our employees.”
According to seasoned dating coach, Jennifer Greene, “Since the dawn of the internet, perusers have been warned: if it’s too good to be true, then it isn’t true. This rule applies in the online dating world as well.”
So these seemingly beautiful women aren’t just sending fake messages. They are sending fake messages from fake accounts! This practice is common with the worst of the “dating” sites. Some of these sites don’t seem to have any real users at all, it’s just a virtual world, like a strange, seductive Sim City video game. Count me out.
Somehow, this site had to pay for a fancy graphic designer to make their logo. I suspect it was by getting people to sign up for their not-so-cheap memberships.
Now, technically, you can use the site for free, but it’s not so much using the site as it is clicking around until another window pops up to ask you to pay. You can’t send messages, look at a person’s photos (besides their main profile photo), or even do comprehensive searches without first upgrading to a paid membership.
This is a big red flag for a dating site. While most sites have some sort of paid option, the legit ones will at least let you browse through their members to see what you like before paying. The best sites will even let you send messages without a paid membership.
But just because you can’t send messages on OneNightFriend, that doesn’t mean you won’t receive them. Within an hour of being on this site I got four messages from different women. I didn’t even have a profile picture up. Now, maybe there just happened to be four, beautiful, very curious women out there who wanted to chat with a guy who had a totally blank profile. But it’s much more likely something else was going on there.
So, it’s pretty clear OneNightFriend isn’t good for meeting women (unless you want a totally digital woman who sends you automated messages, in which case it’s great!). But what’s the harm in using it for fun? Maybe you can see some hot picture or get a laugh.
My advice: Don’t. It’s not worth it on this one.
OneNightFriend is not just trying to steal your money through memberships. They are also trying to take your personal information so they can market their site, and maybe even put up fake profiles using your photos! They say as much in their fine print:
“By posting information or content including but not limited to copyrighted content, name and likeness and photographs to your profile pages or any public area of the Services, you automatically grant . . . a non-exclusive, royalty free, worldwide license to use, copy, publish, display, reformat, translate and distribute.”
The terms went on and on. Just trust me, it’s bad.
The cybercrime landscape surrounding online romance scams has seen a significant uptick in recent years. Here’s some shocking stats:
This data shows a concerning trend of escalating online romance fraud, with the losses reported in 2022 being a continuation of the dramatic increase observed in 2021. As a user of online dating apps, these figures should tell you to be cautious and informed when it comes to finding out about online romance scams, which are becoming increasingly sophisticated and costly.
So, how does this happen? To find out more, let’s look at what experts are saying about apps and sites like OneNightFriend.com:
All of the legit dating sites will promote themselves on social media. It can help them to get new members, to explain their policies and mission, and to make dating easier and more fun. Social media is free, they really have nothing to lose. So, when a dating site doesn’t have a social media presence, you know something is up. I tried to find OneNightFriend social media accounts for this OneNightFriend.com review, and it looks like they don’t even have a Facebook page.
Usually when a site doesn’t have social media it’s because they actually want to keep a low profile. The only reason a dating site would want to keep a low profile is because it’s a total scam. The only other online presence I could find for OneNightFriend was an app. I found it in the Apple store, and it had a rating of 1.5 stars. That’s one friend I don’t want, not even for one night.
For full transparency, here’s what other people are saying about OneNightFriend.com:
Crimcinemax: I’ve attempted to Deactivate from this site within 5 minutes of seeing its layout and dozens of likes in seconds. Fake. Phony. Scamming. But I want to make sure there’s no billing fees. It would not permit me to Deactivate. Now what?? Posted on August 20, 2023
IngenuityNew6668: I had nothing but issues trying to cancel. Stil not managed and they keep trying to take money from my account. Even emails are usually answered pointing you in another direction! Be so careful of this site. Posted on October 13, 2023
Eroticism: With a little research I can see that OneNightFriend (.com) is not worth it and quite possibly even scam. This is a new site with few real users. Hookup sites needs to be super popular or it won’t work and it for sure it won’t have enough female profiles on it either. Just by looking at OneNightFriend reviews, etc. it’s obvious they mostly have just male profiles and probably a bunch of fake profiles to make it look good. Posted on July 18, 2023
Franz: Scam: make sure to call your bank and block vendor after cancellation. Figurer out after signing up for the 99 cent trial that it is all robots that send messages on their website. I cancelled (did their whole Spiel of going through the website and calling their number) but got charged again. Called them back and got explained that the guy I talked to first didn’t actually cancel the account but signed me up for not one but two other websites. So I got double charged the next month. They route you through their call center to make you feel you cancel but actually just take more money. Obviously a scam. That they are able to take credit card and there is a legit bank out there that processes them is beyond me. Who runs that banks compliance department? Posted on April 10, 2023.
I hope this OneNightFriend.com review has helped you learn that the messages on the site are as fake as the profiles themselves. It’s a site full of scams, and not even interesting ones. They are the most classic, run-of-the-mill tricks to get guys to sign up and hand over their personal information. It’s just like a sequel to any Hollywood popcorn flick: the same script that’s already been done a million times before. Trust me on this one, OneNightFriend is not worth your time.
Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that we get about this site:
One Night Friend looks like a dating app for finding one night stands. However, in our experience, it looks incredibly sketchy. All the profiles and messages we saw looked fake. We don’t recommend this site at all.
Blue Vision runs OneNightFriend.com. This company based in Bulgaria also runs different dating sites with the same sketchy mechanics.
In fact, if you want to see our other reviews for sites/apps from Blue Vision, click here to learn about NaughtyDate, a confirmed scam website.
If you need to contact OneNightFriend, you can call them at 18009892318. You can also email them at [email protected].
One Night Friend is a real site. But it’s incredibly suspicious–from the profiles to the messages we received.
If you read our full OneNightFriend.com review above, you will see that we don’t think that Onenightfriend.com is legit.
Fortunately, there are some ways to refine your choices and find the right app tailored to your needs and desires. Cynthia Shaw, a licensed clinical psychologist at Authentically Living Psychological Services, PLLC, suggests the following.
We hesitate to call One Night Friend an outright scam but it is extremely suspicious. Our blank profile received a ton of messages and views which usually means that the site itself is full of bots or other fake profiles. We highly recommend that you look elsewhere.
No. One Night Friend is not trustworthy.
According to a survey by Pew Research Center, Americans are somewhat divided on whether online dating platforms are a safe way to meet people. Around 47% of US adults reported that they found it very or somewhat easy to find trustworthy information on dating sites, while 51% said they found it very or somewhat difficult. The study also highlighted concerns about the potential risks involved in using these platforms, with some individuals worrying about the safety of meeting someone through a dating site or app.
There are a few alternatives to One Night Friend that are worth trying out. These are hookup sites and apps that we would recommend much higher than Onenightfriend.com. Check out our favorite hookup sites and apps if you are tired of wasting your time with sites like One Night Friend.
In short, OneNightFriend doesn’t work as a dating site. You can create an account and look around. But you can’t contact anyone there.
